Aching soldier and the war Scorching forested hills As villagers flee the onslaught Shot in the back as they flee Just trying to do what he has to Paid to do as he's told One mind opposed can do nothing One desperate will can be broken Now as the footsteps move closer No one breathes with the killers approaching A father's son is extinguished There's occasional spots of resistance

Saw a car in the yard, no one is home I saw sunshine leaking onto the windowsill You won't see me again It's 3 pm, afternoon, sounds from under the door Gonna bury myself in the backyard next to the rocks and stones

Reach the other side Of the great divide All the words behind Demarcation lines In the Southern Seas Reaching out for me On the shining path What a sight to see I'm not older now Time to turn around From the light so fine Into the great divide

Sunday morning quiet hours Come five days late When all of our work is done Everything's broken down And laid in its place Looking so neat and tidy I cannot see to the end of me Through shadows we walk down To the edge of the sea One by one and two by two There's a prison up on the hill With a light in the doorway But I'll take the path through the woods I cannot see to the end of me

In all actuality, the problem is less about people and more about equitable distribution of resources. But elbow room is a problem too, so there.

Looking out my window At leaves falling on the grass Stretching out in every direction On lawns as smooth as glass And all the houses are safe And kept in tidy rows The pleistocene vistas plowed over by a neon dream Covered up by ice and snow

Oh tell me my dear what you think of me There's some places I'd like to go But some of them I probably won't see So tell me what it is you wanna take from me Take your voice out of your throat Put it on the kitchen table And I'm not one to gloat But I'm still young and able

about

2014 release of varied content laying around the back-alleys of Redirection Studios, with some current stuff in there as well. Recorded in South Austin and Los Angeles. Spanning 2007 - 2014. As always, it's all my fault.

released December 6, 2014

All songs written by Reed. All recorded at home in South Austin and Los Angeles. All sounds by Reed with exception of: my wife April Rose zagareeting on "Sahara Rising"; Eric Bohlke saying "okay" to my verbal dawdling at the beginning of "Kitchen Table"; and "Jigsaw, Not Musical" has some sample in it from somewhere but fucked if I can remember where it came from.

And also, let it be known that I came up with the name "With a Little Help From My Fwends" ostensibly *before* the Flaming Lips did (that track dates to 2007). I went ahead and changed the name to "...Fwendsss" because I'm nice and tend to avoid conflict where possible. However, I am pretty much available if they would like to contact me about royalties or licensure.
